Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen.”

Leonardo Da Vinci

I will be taking a short break from my blog as I spend time with family over the holidays. While our gatherings will be smaller this year and will not include extended family, I firmly believe taking a break way from work is vital to recharging one’s batteries. Breaks can bring new perspective. They fuel creativity and sharpen judgment. So with that in mind, I’m going to redirect my time to long walks, spending some quality time with my two daughters, and maybe even take a day trip to a state park with my husband.

With the pandemic this year, I realize it may be tempting to continue working through the holidays, especially since so many of us are now working from home or have work beckoning on our cell phones. As Da Vinci admonishes, I hope you will also take some time to “have a little relaxation.”

I look forward to reconnecting with you in 2021! Until then, have a safe and peaceful holiday season.
